Cavinona

Cavinona is an Ontario-based wine agency that specializes in Italian wine.

We have handpicked over 90 producers from across the Italian peninsula to offer the best selection of Italy’s vast range of indigenous varieties in Ontario.

We seek out small, local winemakers who are driven by a commitment to quality and authenticity. Most are family-run businesses, passed down through generations and guided by a philosophy of minimal intervention in the vineyard and in the cellar. All are dedicated to making wines that offer the best expression of the native grapes and soils of their region.

Our wines are available by the bottle at Terroni restaurants and wine shops, and by the case through our online store at cavinona.com

Discover Cavinona and enter a world of wines that are true to grape, people and place.

Abruzzo

Located just east of Lazio, the rural region of Abruzzo is east of Rome, along the coast of the Adriatic Sea. Abruzzo is known for being the “green heart” of the Mediterranean – this region has more nature than any other, and is considered the agrotourism capital of Italy. The Apennine Mountains form much of its interior, and the coastal plain has sandy beaches and dune systems. Abruzzo produces one DOCG – Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane – and three DOC wines: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Controguerra and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo.
