As our locations grew and our brands developed over the last 30 years, we’ve never compromised on our commitment to quality and tradition. Even though we’ve grown as much as we have from that first Queen St. West location, we have never strayed from our core values.
Our first location at 720 Queen St. W. in 1992 started with a simple yet ambitious desire: to offer an authentically Italian food experience in Toronto.
Bread is an Italian table staple. This was the rise of Sud Forno. Fascinated by the art of bread making, Cosimo decided to bring this craft in-house to be able to offer all his guests an artisanal bread, both with their meals and to be taken home.
The evolution of Terroni continues on a path that honours both tradition and innovation which brings us to the latest addition to the family: Spaccio. As the brand grows and expands, ensuring consistency and quality control throughout all the locations remains a very important objective. There needed to be a next-level solution that would guarantee the continued quality as well as an opportunity to increase our offerings.
The historic Postal Station K building at Yonge & Montgomery in north Toronto was once the site of a revolution. Today, it houses an original, fully integrated grocery and dining experience called STOCK T.C. The T for Terroni and the C for our good friends and partners, Cumbrae’s. The grocer located on the main floor is Stock’s take on a modern market. Shop from the butcher, the baker, and the pasta and pizza maker. Hand whipped gelato, rotisserie chicken, pastries, fine wines, a cheese aging cave, homemade and imported artisanal products and more. The kitchen is also open for fully prepared meals, burgers, panini, salads and more.
From Cumbrae’s sustainable farms to our handcrafted pizza and pasta, STOCK BAR is the quintessential American bistro married with Italian classics. An international wine list and curated cocktails are offered in a spacious bar and dining area located on the second and third floor of STOCK’S vibrant, yet cozy atmosphere. From the deckle edged floors reminiscent of postage stamps in homage to the building’s previous incarnation, to the custom mosaic depicting a Canadian shield sunset, the new design evokes the nostalgia of classic American bistros coupled with the homey comforts of a well seasoned kitchen. This next-level celebration of food is the result of the collaboration between two game-changing entrepreneurs known for improving the food landscape in the city: Terroni’s Cosimo Mammoliti and Cumbrae’s Stephen Alexander.
Porta is an online Italian meal subscription service. In Italian, “Porta” means both “door” and “to carry.” This is Terroni-quality Italian food delivered right to you. All meals are meticulously prepared by our chefs, they are then flash frozen and delivered to your door. Within 15 minutes or less, you can have restaurant-quality pizza, pasta, risotto, breakfast and desserts using only the best ingredients that meet our high standards. You just have to choose between the subscription options and your custom meal plan, and your ready-made meals will arrive at your ‘porta’.
